At a recent swap meet, a friend said there was an obvious shortage of "unobtainium" - that is obviously that 'something special' we sometimes need to remove rear hubs off these taper axles ! First time I tried to remove mine on my first 300C - heat and leaving the puller on, with spray on lubricant, worked finally. Few thousand miles and 15 years later, one comes free after loosen nut turn and half, quick flog round the block with plenty of swerving left and right (this scaring few neighbours in their house front yards). The other - drove round for weeks, burnouts, everything, and still stuck, this despite it put back with lubricant !!!! Obviously needs some "unobtainium" ? So over easter, still being stupid, I decided to replace bush in front of leaf spring on my '57 TBird - fun fun fun, getting the locating bolt out of the chassis which it passes thru as part of holding spring in car - bet 300s have this same clever idea ?! Hope you all had a happy easter, you yanks didn't really crush/destroy saddams collector/50s cars as was reported in our press did you, most only 3000 miles!?? Tell me Chrysler do not know it looks like a blunt brick with an ugly Cadillac style grille on it's nose - note Chrysler did not seem to put a real '57 300C or a '60 F beside it ??! They know it looks blunt enough without sticking a true styling icon like either of those two alongside to make it even more obvious??!! I understand your points/comment re 2 doors don't sell as well, but maybe they will come out with some sexy/swoopy 2 door if we tell them 'have another try' !? I mean GM woke up 'looks sell by 1926 when they set Harley Earl's styling & dept up !! aussie christopher >From: "BobMerritt" <rcmerritt@xxxxxxxxxx> >To: <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subject: [Chrysler300] Hemi Concept car >Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 08:10:56 -0400 > >Relaying this message from John Hertog. > >Pictures from the New York Auto Show: > >www.chrysler300club.com/2004Concept300C/Concept.html > > > _________________________________________________________________ MSN Instant Messenger now available on Australian mobile phones.?Go to http://ninemsn.com.au/mobilecentral/hotmail_messenger.asp ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2003 01:44:42 -0500 From: paul holmgren <paulholm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Hemi Concept car Humm, I wonder, from a styling point how they can design and sell a 2 door car this size that is COMFORTABLE for folks to enter/exit the back seating area. Somehow over the years of the "cloud" cars I got the impression that 2 door cars were somewhat ackward to enter/exit gracefully the back seating area. AND that impression was the consumer reluctence to support this in numbers that sold well.
