 Chuck,
Go to the Chrysler 300 Inc. website, click on 'information photos',
scroll
down to '1979-300' and click on it. That photo MAY be enough for you to
identify what you need!

I had similar leak in my B's torqueflight. Replaced small "O" ring seal
on push button control cable and all was well. No need to remove
transmission for this. I would clean off bottom of transmission and try
to determine where leak was coming from before removing it.

However did end of replacing transmission for another reason(very long
complicated situation). Timo Tanskanen provided me an excellent rebuilt
replacement. Couple of other good transmission builders in the Club also.

Hey, you transmission weenies out there, I've got a question. The
transmission on my D convertible leaks, nearly a cup a week just sitting
in
the garage, until the fluid level gets about a quart and a half low.
I'm
getting tired of the mess on the floor, so I'm gonna have it fixed.
Now the
question: can the transmission be removed from the car without removing
the
engine? Remember, this is a convertible, so it has the massive X-frame
addition to the normal ladder frame. And since I've got your attention,
what
lubricant should I use in the D's real axle, given that it is a limited
slip
unit? Thanks for whatever help I can get. McTaggart

Gauguin Red, after Paul Gauguin, the artist known for his use of bright
colors, is much closer to Coral than it is to anything we might have in
our minds as "red" like fire engines, or the flag stripes. And what you
see "wet" in the can is not what you are going to have "dry" on the car
after thinning and literally drying. Just like paint on/in your house, it
will lighten a couple of shades when it is dry..

this is bill of bill's basket case in kennewick washington.

my car is suppose to be gaugan red color.

and i was going to go for it...until my guy who is working on the body
showed me a open quart of the red color (and i got the code from this
group)...anyway it was a long long long way from red...it was near coral
(is
that right?).

now i've seen idaho georges car on his website and it looks a pretty
red...not coral.

so before i jump ship and paint my 57 white, someone clue me in a little
more.

but just in case does someone have the color mix code for cloud white or
whatever the name is?

bill

"where the side windows roll up into" - I'm guessing you are asking
about the roof rail weatherseal running horizontally under the rain gutter
of the roof. Yes, numerous sources supply this rubber, Gary Goers I'm
sure is among them.

HI Folks:
I have been in the Franklin Mint show along with Tony Rinaldi. It is a
tremendous show and they treat you exceptionally well. It is a huge event
for
the Southeastern section of PA. It also draws from DE and NJ.
I heartily recommend participating. However, do not dally, they have only
so
many slots and they fill up quickly. If you do not register by the end of
May, you most likely will be out of luck. Me and my "F" are registered,
come
on down and see us!

and i now know that gary goers has the window rubber gizmos i need.

and while i am here, i still need a left taillight housing...a really good
one please. (thought i would just throw that out there...again)

one last thing: has anyone bought the spoke wheels for their 300...do
they
look cool? how wide are they? there seems to be 2 versions...chrome or

Just one more time ; Torque flight tranny. I had the tranny re built . It
will go into reverse but not into "D" , 1 or 2 . I removed the safety
switch and looked in there the cable is moving through all the gears , but
doesn't shift into any forward speeds. . Now I would like to say to the
tranny guy, " listen Buster this is what's wrong " , better yet fix it
myself . Help......

Thanks again

Hi Terry,
If you have to take it out, you may have to remove the parking brake
drum
and backing plate to get it far enough back to clear the bellhousing. I
had
to do this on a 56 NYer convert that I put a torqueflite into. More than
likely though, it's leaking from either the shift cable, kickdown lever
shaft seal, or the neutral switch.

    Don

Hi Ben,
If the cable is shifting it through all the positions as you say, the
unit
will have to come back out. It's most likely that the rebuilder broke a
sealing ring during assembly. This could possibly be fixed in the car, but
it would be much easier with the unit on the bench.

    Don
