Replaced small "O" ring seal on push button control cable and all was well. No need to remove transmission for this. I would clean off bottom of transmission and try to determine where leak was coming from before removing it. However did end of replacing transmission for another reason(very long complicated situation). Timo Tanskanen provided me an excellent rebuilt replacement. Couple of other good transmission builders in the Club also. The transmission on my D convertible leaks, nearly a cup a week just sitting in the garage, until the fluid level gets about a quart and a half low. I'm getting tired of the mess on the floor, so I'm gonna have it fixed. Now the question: can the transmission be removed from the car without removing the engine? Remember, this is a convertible, so it has the massive X-frame addition to the normal ladder frame. And since I've got your attention, what lubricant should I use in the D's real axle, given that it is a limited slip unit? Thanks for whatever help I can get. McTaggart Yahoo! Gauguin Red, after Paul Gauguin, the artist known for his use of bright colors, is much closer to Coral than it is to anything we might have in our minds as "red" like fire engines, or the flag stripes. And what you see "wet" in the can is not what you are going to have "dry" on the car after thinning and literally drying. Just like paint on/in your house, it will lighten a couple of shades when it is dry.. "where the side windows roll up into" - I'm guessing you are asking about the roof rail weatherseal running horizontally under the rain gutter of the roof. It is a tremendous show and they treat you exceptionally well. It is a huge event for the Southeastern section of PA. It also draws from DE and NJ. I heartily recommend participating. However, do not dally, they have only so many slots and they fill up quickly. If you do not register by the end of May, you most likely will be out of luck. Me and my "F" are registered, come on down and see us! I had to do this on a 56 NYer convert that I put a torqueflite into. More than likely though, it's leaking from either the shift cable, kickdown lever shaft seal, or the neutral switch. 300ly, Don ----- Original Message ----- From: <pennsy300@xxxxxxx> To: <chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 11, 2003 11:09 AM Subject: [Chrysler300] Questions > Hey, you transmission weenies out there, I've got a question. It's most likely that the rebuilder broke a sealing ring during assembly. This could possibly be fixed in the car, but it would be much easier with the unit on the bench. 300ly, Don ----- Original Message ----- From: Ben Meisner <meisnerinc@xxxxxxx> To: Chrysler 300 <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2003 12:47 AM Subject: [Chrysler300] tranny > Folks ; > > Just one more time ; Torque flight tranny.
