It hangs between the alternator mounting and the water pump and tensions the water pump belt. It seems Mother MoPar built the thing (bearing, D shaped stud, and pulley) such that it cannot be disassembled, and the bearing on the one I have is shot. Anybody know a source for these? They must have made a jillion of them back then, but I am having no luck so far. I was wondering if you must jump thru any hoops if it's possible. I was told I would have to remove the valve on top of the pump and install a thermostat in the system. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks Neal ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Mon, 10 Mar 2003 18:03:57 -0800 From: Dan Dunkleberg <Signboy@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Rotiserrie Hi all. It is simple in design and execution, and supports the unibody of a 300F or 300G or other unibodies in exactly the same manner as when the car is resting on its wheels. Greg was generous and kind enough to give me one of these invenshun's ( correct spelling). I used it to restore my 300G, and a 300F. It made the task a breeze. Car can be tilted in either direction to work on quarters or underbody... and can also be wheeled around behind a trailer hitch... Anyway, for pictures of Greg's "Invenshun" with 300F mounted, please click on: http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/1106blasted.JPG and http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/1024rtfrtonframe.JPG and http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/1024sideonframe.JPG and http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/1024inshoponframe.JPG For pictures of the car tilted: http://www.crossrams.com/van300f/0208onframe.JPG Thanks to Greg Leggatt... I was told by my mechanic there is also a cable (presumably between the linkage and the pedal) which could be the source of the problem. Does that make sense to you? Specifically, what happens is 1. downshifting to second when it shouldn't and 2. not upshifting to third when it should. Also, it does not seem to behave consistently the same way. I will contact Imperial about the shifter cable. Check it again and verify that it is returning to idle position on its own and not binding up or sticking. Problems with the gear shift cable usually manifest themselves as slipping and poor shifting, due to insufficient oil pressure, from the manual valve not being properly positioned.
