I am sorry to inform you that your inclusion in my address book may have caused a possible virus to be placed on your
computer. A virus was passed on to me by a contact who was kind enough to let me know. My address book has in turn automatically been infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it on your computer also.
The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is NOT detected by Norton or McAfee
Anti-Virus systems. The virus, allegedly, sits for 14 days before
damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the
address book, WHETHER OR NOT you sent e-mails to your contacts.
To infect, no action was needed by me or by you. I received the
following message below and had to remove a file from my computer. I
followed the directions below and erased the virus easily. Please take two minutes to search your computer as described below. Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it.
YOU MUST DO THIS
1. Go to Start, Find or Search option
2. In the file/folders option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe
3. Be sure you search your C:drive and all subfolders and any other
drives you may have
4. Click "find now"
5. The Virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO
NOT OPEN IT
6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar), choose "select all" to highlight
the file without opening it
7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will
then go to the Recycle Bin
8. Go to the Recycle Bin and delete it there as well.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS
BOOK SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS.
To do this:
a. Open a new email message or Forward this entire message.
b. click the icon of the address book next to the "to" and highlight
every name and add to "BCC"
c. Copy this message.. enter subject... paste to email...send
Just as this notice said, it was in my computer even with an
Anti-virus program. Please take note and follow the above instructions.
Sorry for the bug, but you may have time to erase it before it matures.

As previously stated : virus protection is up to INDIVIDUAL listserver

Its time to freshen up the 413 in my 300F after
115,000 miles. I have numerous leaks from sitting for
20 years and a little blow-bye. It consumes and or
leaks 1 to 1 1/2 quarts of oil on a 150 mile outing.
What I need to know are there any hints, secrets or
special procedures in extracting the 413 from the 60

from this year will be a new adventure. Any do's or
don'ts short of leave it there and keep adding more

I have pulled the engine with and without the transmission on my
'62...each had advantages and disadvantages...On a '60, you have a cast
iron tranny rather than alum. So probably better to pull the engine
without the tranny. I would invest on the best, most heavy duty engine
stand you can find. I had one tip on me leaving me with a lovely scar
on my leg...I was lucky, I was am to jump out of the way and merely got
slashed by the tab on the timing cover. Worst case would have been
800lbs of motor on my legs AND I was working on it alone when it
happened. (My husband came home 12 hours later to find the engine on
the driveway wrapped in plastic and my leg wrapped in gauze.) The
engine was undamaged. The 413 is a very heavy motor. Good Luck and
have fun!

I would pull the engine and transmission as a unit. It can be pretty tough to get the engine re-aligned with the transmission in place in the car when you go to reinstall. I would also give serious consideration to rebuilding the transmission at the same time since it is out of the car. I have removed and replaced the engine on my G separate from the trans and it was tough to get them back together. By the same token, I have removed the trans for rebuilding twice, each time without a transmission jack. I will NEVER do it without a transmission jack again, the cast iron units are just too heavy.
Unless the trans has been recently rebuilt, I would at least replace the front seal on the trans once they are separated.

Hi Phil,
Let it snow ? LET IT SNOW ? that's your wish for me ? Jeez - thanks -
spent the whole day shovelling, about 18" of the white stuff, snow drifts
are 4' high. My 4WD had a hard time making it out of my driveway. Then, to
really rub it in, a certain so-called friend from Arizona is e-mailing me
pictures of himself working on his car - outside, in a T-shirt !
The piece you need is available from Gary Goers, part number #452; it's a
white plastic bushing that fits inside the metal bracket held on to
firewall, and thru which the rod fits into. It takes the "slop" out .
Contact Gary at gary@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - only source I know of. Usually,
junkyard cars will have that piece, but it will crack and fall apart if one
tried to remove it due to age and fatigue.

Subject: Radiators - for sale - 209917AC, 2445645AC
Hello there & happy Tuesday. I've 2 radiators leftover from projects. One matches the numbers found on my 300H (A/C, auto), the other appears similar to those in my '57s. The model numbers are: 209917 & 2445645. I do not have a model# reference, so hopefully you'll know the applications for certain.
Both have transmission cooler connections, and both would need to be at least patched; likely re-cored. Neither have fan shrouds. $50 each (as-is) or both for $75. +shipping. (I'd also happily trade one for a '57 fan shroud). I just finished having several other radiators re-cored, so these now need a home. Many thanks & have a good week. mv
