If this race is taking place on a drag strip that do tech checks prior to racing(most do) you may want to consult with a tech guide to make sure all these mods are legal at the strip. For example, I believe you are only allowed 12 inches of rubber fuel line for connection purposes only. 'We' wouldn't want this race to be over before it begins! Oh....as for the belt dressing on the tires, put it on just prior to racing and seeing as you now have slicks.....warm them up a bit after rolling through the water box. Good Luck!! I read with great amusement the various responses to Larry's mission. I cant remember a better involvement on a subject on this list server ( at least one that didn't end up with reminder on list server rules). Several years ago Mopar action did a drag test on a 64 or 65 Imperial in an attempt to improve its ET. They did nothing mechanical to the car to enhance its performance but used weight reduction by removing one body panel at a time until the car was nothing more than a frame and cowl with the driveline and rad support. DO NOT take this approach with a precious 300. I cannot predict the outcome of the drag race but in bench racing on looks, style and sheer "WOW" factor the 300 is yards ahead. I had my 300F out ywo nights ago and did not notice any Camaro's getting the thumbs up or appreciative nod. They destroyed a perfectly good, rust free Imperial. I find it disturbing that a magazine that is supposed to be about Mopars would ruin one of their own. I guess according to them, Chrysler didn't make anything good besides A, B, & E bodies. Their articles are all about smart ass remarks and a "know it all" attitude. They can't even finish an article without continuing it to somewhere in the back of the magazine. The only time since that article I have bought that piece of crap is when John Hertog's gold G was in it. 300ly, Don ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Martin <paul_martin78ca@xxxxxxxx> To: <chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 1:07 PM Subject: Fwd: Re: [Chrysler300] Lefty On the List....Mopar vs Bowtie > > Note: forwarded message attached. > > I read with great amusement the various responses to > Larry's mission.
