When I start it,it runs very rough and after it's warm the engine seems to serge. The idle will raise and then drop to the point it almost stalls and sometimes it will stall. It also blows alot of black smoke out the exhaust. It does'nt do this all the time. I had it out yesterday and she ran great. You get the wiring harness, distributor, control box and everything you need to install it. Not very expensive and well worth the money if you are converting a lean burn system or a breaker point ignition to electronic ignition.(For my money and trouble the kit is a better way to go than a trip to the wreckers) Ryan Hill _________________________________________________________________ Broadband??Dial-up? Check the obvious first. Floats, needle/seat, and carb leaks(internal) then move to vacuum leaks etc. if you don't find any problems with the carb. What carb are you running? If you happen to have a later model Thermoquad, they have porous floats that will eventually begin to obsorb fuel and cause flooding. Good Luck. It sounds like you have a sometimes sticking float which allows gas to overflow into the manifold which is causing a flooding condition, hence "It also blows alot of black smoke out the exhaust." Good Luck, and let us know how it turns out, Ray Jones > From: "obiwan10" <obiwan10@xxxxxxxxx> > Date: Thu, 24 Oct 2002 12:36:14 -0700 > To: <Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, "my69300" <tubman@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] stalling problem > > Have you checked to see if the choke is operating properly. I never paid too much attention because paint was a subject that seemed way off in the future as far as my car was concerned. To coin a (Para)phrase: "Suddenly It's 1957"!! My engine is being redone by the same shop that will be painting the car, and they've told me they'd like to do the engine bay while they have the engine out of the car. It makes sense, but instead of researching paint color next spring, I need to do it NOW! All I know is that it is a 1957 Chrysler Saratoga with a metallic chocolate brown top and inserts and a pink or coral body. The "PNT" code on the body plate is "NMN". Would any of you be able to help me translate this cryptic information into a formula that the body man can use to order paint color?
