Anyone have an idea of a good supplier for this? If you don't have a good
supplier how about one to stay away from?

Zak

Subject: Re: stamping reproduction generator ID tags

Hi John and all

I had several done by Timo for various starters and generators and
distributors. He sells the tags and stamps them. I am sure you got your
tags from Goers, he gets them from Timo.
The problem is I have not been able to get a reply from Timo. Don't know
if
he is in the us anymore? I can stamp them w/ std. no. & letter set. Would
look good, but not exact match to orig.no. style.
I will likely do them in the future, but will not commit like I did on the

hub cap masks. Not until I can do it.
I would have a number and letter set engraved to replicate the original.
Something I observed in 57 I found two different styles used.
Likely different vendors.
Just for every ones edification. You can salvage the drive rivets that
hold
the tags to the housings. You don't want to take pliers to them. The
generator must be completely disassembled, including fields. The hole the
rivet goes into is drilled through the housing.
Then take a piece of hardened wire or drill bit and drive them out from
the
inside. The hole is only about .O40 to .050. Then I have them cad plated.
The short cut is to wire brush then and spray w/ Kryon dull aluminum.
That's very close to cad look. Tap them back in w/ a piece of plastic so
they don't get damaged.

Hope that's not to much info.

Hi To All:

Bob Merritt asked if anyone had info on Chrysler 300 Logo floor mats.
Attached is a response I received from the Company in question,
International
Auto Sport in Virginia.
Bob, we are a little late. As you can see, they no longer have a supplier
for
the mats. Sorry.

Hi Folks:
Guess I messed up on the last e-mail. Hopefully it will work this time.
The
Company which did sell 300 Floor Mats can no longer get them. Their e-mail

response to me follows.

Hi Zak and All,
I bought one from L.O.F. Glass Search last fall. It is certainly
"bubbled" but not as pronounced as the originals.
The fit and tint are perfect but it is not shaded. The L.O.F. "bug" is
feint and appropriate but it is in the lower
right corner. It was made in Mexico, April 01.
Installed in the car it looks fine. Parked beside an original the
bubble will look wrong. FYI.
    Greg.
