I had "evil double bidders" to "my son bid on it". Ebay may be great to sell small items, but when it comes to higher price items, its seems to be an invitation for the kooks. Im selling my 1962 Chrysler 300 (383/auto 4dr) the old fashioned traditional way, person to person. The main reason I am selling it at all, is because i have a new car coming in and I don't want to start keeping the 300 outdoors, especially up here in the east coast. So it has to go now. Its a very rust free, very original 1962 Chrysler 300. It is in super shape, drives well and I've gotten compliments on it from everyone who has seen it. I have all the original paperwork as well...all the way down to the original window sticker and broadcast sheet. In the 3 years I have gone to Carlisle this is the ONLY 62 300 4dr I have ever seen. Here are more details of the car.. and to see oodles of photos (about 30) you can go here: http://www.scatpack.com/300rv.html Take a look at the photos anyway, I am a proud poppa! This car spent most of its privleged life in the saltfree state of Colorado. Living a life of pampered luxury, it spent its summers on the road, its winters in the garage. Then in the late 90's the owner passed away and it was bought and shipped out to New Jersey, where it spent its life hidding in a garage. And then I came along, and brought it back to the street. This is a very clean, very original rust free 1962 300. Ive put about 3000 miles on it in the last 3 years. Since owning I have replaced: NEW PARTS: New Tires BF Goodrich Radial TA New Shocks New Front end suspension (Idler, Pitman, Control arms, TieRods, etc) New Exhaust (2months old, cost me $600, converted over to duals, with chrome tips) New Brakes and cylinders New Carpet (the car is a 999 special order coded interior!) New Wires, Plugs AND converted over to electronic ignition (I stored the original distributor) This is White on Rose 1962 Chrysler 300. Its a 383 pushbutton automatic. It has AM radio and power windows, heater and A/C. The A/C doesnt work right now, but did as recently as July. One of the power window mounts broke (rear drivers side. the motor still works) but i bought replacement parts and they come with the car. The bubble dash is this cars best feature. The chrome shines. Actually, the chrome on the entire car shines. No pitting. I even have the original manual, original sales brochure AND the original Heater Control standup that sat on the heater controls when you got the car! Who keeps that stuff? Im glad he did. This car drives great, nice and smooth. Doesn't smoke. I've driven the car on 300+ mile trips without a problem. Could you drive the car back to California?(im in New Jersey) Maybe, but I wouldn't advise taking any 38 year old car on a long trip like that. Heck, i wouldnt take my PT cruiser on that trip! The price i'm asking for is $3700 and that includes several extra parts including a complete front and rear 1962 H black leather seats, a rear bumper, set of door handles, 3 grilles and more. If you want to buy the car without the extra parts I may be able to work on the price a little but I am already taking a loss on the car. I need to move this car rather quickly so let me know. If you have any questions, or want specific photos, email me and let me know. Amoungst the items I picked up in my Detroit trip were 5 back trim pieces for dash knobs. Chrome is fairly nice, NOT NOS but easily usable. I seem to have 4 different items. 1 Lights? 1 Defroster? and 3 that are rather plain. (2 with casting/parts numbers) 1772482 with a plastic spacer(?) 1604273 2 of these I can Do Pics. If anyone is interested I'll let them go for $5.oo each + postage. So if yours are pitted, potted, fractured or missing, whatever, and these are something you can use here they be. -- Paul Holmgren Hoosier Corps #33, L-6 2 57 300-C's in Indy ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 21:34:00 -0500 From: "Keith Langendorfer" <langendorfer@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Rene Kroeger Folks: Does anyone know how to reach Rene Kroeger in Iowa? Q. #1. What was the last year that Chrysler Corp. offered ram induction on any car OTHER than a 300? Which cars? Which engines? Q #2. Has anyone ever heard of any production ram tubes in material other than aluminum? Like, for example, cast iron? ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 22:31:12 EST From: Dmihalo44@xxxxxxx Subject: 1962 300H Price Reduced I recently put my 1962 300H in a Car Museum for sale because I was planning on moving and listed it at $24,998. My personal plans for moving have been moved up and now I'm forced to reduce the price even lower for an immediate sale. It is now reduced to $17,998 and is a tremendous value for anyone who knows and appreciates Letter Cars. The car had the original owner until 1999 and was lovingly restored eg. restored interior, engine etc. This a gorgeous and powerful car with everything working and original eg. tach, radio, air conditioning etc. It has all the paperwork and is listed in the Club directory. But you can take a look at it in it's showroom setting. Go to www.volocars.com and see for yourself. The Volo Car Museum can vouch for the quality, authenticity and value ( or they wouldn't have it in their Museum to begin with ). I will be offline while I move and will be unable to field your questions until the first week of Dec. so call Jay Gramm direct at Volo at 815 385 3644 and get the full particulars. Feel free to make the purchase through him. He has all the VIN info from Gil Cunningham, the appraisal that I contracted for when I bought the car etc. This is a financial loss for me but a chance for some one who really understands Letter Cars to get a tremendous value on a gorgeous car. I really want a private individual to own and care for this car and do not want to sell to a dealer for his quick sale because of this price. Call Jay now because this price will attract a lot of interest....and take good care of my 1962 300H. Almost all of your new cars use it today on production engines. Just lift the hood and you will notice all these short maybe 9"-12" long with a slight curve to them Thats your modern ram induction. As far as Older Chrysler engines other than the big long ones that sit on top and cris cross I believe it was the 426 wedge engine with what they called the Max Wedge Cross Ram. The Manifolds were aprox. 14" in length. inside, And were in a stagered inline. The Carbs were off set.a few inches each way. I believe 1964 was the last Cross Ram Max Wedges. That same manifold setup was also used on some Racing Hemi 426 engines. My wife drives a 1996 Concord with the 3.5 and it has ram induction. Chrysler started playing with ram tubes in 1952 on there Indy Hemi engines. I don't know if this helps you. I don't have the time right now to lookup the exact dates but I feel I'm close....Gary Barker pennsy300@xxxxxxx wrote: > I have a meeting this Sunday with a gentleman who may be a know-it-all, so > I'm looking for some correct information.
