John and All,

I have a G coupe and a G convert. Neither have power seats. They are swivel but you have to release the seat to swivel with the chrome handle on the side of the seat. No power to otherwise adjust the seat. It can be slid forward and back with the other release (black handle I believe) on the bottom, side of the seat, all done manually.

My understanding is consistent with Ron's that the automatic swivel with the door and cables does not extend to 1961. It was only 1960 (or 1959 and 1960?). Maybe those knowing more than I like Don V. or Andy M. can comment whether the automatic swivel seats were ever on an F. My understanding is they were not but I could be wrong. Mark O. checks the microfische. Has he seen any 300 Fs with the option?

My father owns a 1960 DeSoto Adventurer which he bought in 1961 with the swivel seats operating with the cables from the doors. Never any problems that I'm aware of. Car is all original with about 42,000 miles. Plastic seat covers still on all seats.

I can’t speak to whether the one-year-only (1960) automatic swivel seats were ever put in a 300F, but years ago I helped a couple of friends pull a 1960 Plymouth Fury out of an old garage. That car had that option. It also had enough mouse and animal poop in it to fertilize an acre of corn.

Was there ever a letter car with automatic swivel seats tied to door movement?  This would be limited to the E or early F I assume, if any?

I agree with Nick.  Attached are original sales brochure information that indicate standard offerings for the G.  Swivel seats were standard, but not the 6 way powered version. No mention of automatic swivel seats (the kind that automatically swing out when you open the door).

Swivel seats were standard on the 300F and 300G. Power was optional. I've never seen a 300F with the automatic ones.
