Re: {Chrysler 300} Next big project

Jay,

I reached out to Jamie Hyde earlier to see if he had an update re a potential F carpeting source. Hope you saw his email to our listserver, that Quirey is exploring possible sources.

Also, to John Nowosacki's email yesterday evening, suggesting spray carpet dye, you'll need to assess whether the spray dying is a reasonable stopgap. I did a similar dye spray on the black carpetin gof my '64 1/2 Mustang convertible and it looked pretty good. But after a couple summers in the sun with its top down, some areas need to again be touched up.

I think I misread your question re the anodized foot rest grids. Mine were a little rusty and I had them re-anodized for my driver F. Reproduction foot rests are available. I don't know if we have any left in our 300 Club Store, but a supply of these reproductions is available from another source. All of these foot rest grids to which I'm referring were reproduced by Jan Fridberg in Sweden, who does excellent work on the parts he reproduces and the cars he restores.

Let me know if I can help!
Noel

Jay,

What Dave Mihalko at Quirey just posted is correct. But note that our 300-Fs had a unique 1-year only carpet style. As a Club, some members have explored having mills reproduce this carpet but, because it'd be such a relatively small run, no company has considered doing this. So unless you're satisfied installing a '61 300-G style black carpet, you're out of luck. It's your call.

Regarding the anodized aluminum car floor carpet hold-down strips and the strips that run alongside your console's top, You'll need to have yours re-anodized. These are not being reproduced, nor is the ribbed console-top filler 2-piece section.

Hello all,

I finished installing my new dash today in my F. Thanks to all that assisted and for your support. Pictures of the finished job are attached.Jay,
Now it’s time for the next big project. I would like to replace my carpet. Wondering how difficult job it is. Hopefully not as bad as the dash I just finished. Also, what are people doing with their anodized foot rest? I’m assuming they are not available for purchase? Finally, is there a source out there for precut and formed carpets for the F? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
