Re: {Chrysler 300} Spring Meet Asheville 2026 - Car Show Information

Beautiful car and great post! I'm hoping to be there, but don't know if I am gutsy enough to drive my white B that far. It's not been out much in decades.
Happy New Year!

Hello all! Wishing you a Happy New Year and hoping to see you in Asheville for the Spring 2026 Meet! Above is a picture of my 1956 B on Asheville's original Motor Mile in our downtown district, now called The South Slope. It is parked outside of the building I rescued it from, Motor Parts of Asheville (which began by selling Mopar accessories in the early 1960s and later switched to just auto body/paint supply). I put together a blog with several installments after its rescue in 2023:
Saving Mrs. Barbara's Chrysler: How we got to know a 1956 Chrysler 300 B Part I

The building behind the B is the Sawyer Motor Building, which was the second auto dealer built on the street in 1924. It is named for Eugene Sawyer, who brought the first automobile - a 1901 Locomobile Steam Car to Asheville.

At this location, Eugene Sawyer conducted business on all four floors of the building and was selling Dodge/Graham Brothers Trucks and Studebaker. There are many other historic auto dealer buildings from this era still lining this street, which is now home to the craft brewing district. There are many great restaurants and breweries close by. We will be closing down Coxe Avenue over 2 blocks to park our cars in the street (it is very wide, made for commercial traffic) and are planning to have several other local and regional classic car clubs/MOPAR clubs join us. I am working with the Asheville Downtown Association and our local Chamber of Commerce to help promote this event to share our incredible cars with the public.

This year, the B also turns 70 so I'd love to have a great turn out of them at the meet! My B turns 70 on 5/24 and my birthday is 5/29 so for my birthday, I'd love to have a big turnout at the meet, ha! I learned at the Buffalo meet that Charlie Valentine also shares the same birthday too!

Happy New Year!
