I used these folks to convert the tach in my '65 Barracuda Formula S to a modern movement.  Very pleased with how well it works.  The tach was electronic to begin with but used an unreliable outdated separate sending unit.
The conversion is all done inside of the tach itself.  It is can be done, they'll know.

Does anyone have a recommendation for conversion of a mechanical OEM Stewart Warner tachometer to an electronic unit , dispensing with the separate sending unit? (Full disclosure that this is for a ‘64 Studebaker R2 Hawk.)
