Long ago in the misspent years of my youth, I always kept a spare driveshaft with rebuilt ball and trunion waiting to be swapped in after too many hole shots or wide open throttle upshifts catching second gear rubber. Frequent application of nearly 500 ft-lbs of torque can and will lead to premature failure.
In recent decades I've mellowed a bit and just enjoy the occasional little 'chirp' going into second gear, and I haven't had to swap in a driveshaft this century. YMMV.
If you're still misbehaving like I used to, a more modern slip spline conversion is probably a more permanent solution. ;-) ?
