Re: {Chrysler 300} 300b carb

yes AFB too .

You have to tweak it to center it in space at times and it can slide sideways on hinge pin , may have to tweak that hinge tab so  it stays in the middle
Also I have run into floats that are slightly different length / shape in different generations and they  subtly  changed a piece of the top casting to not hit larger / later floats .   Also length to pin longer / shorter if I recall . The bump in the  older top casting can hit new float ! This drove me crazy = “ cant work like this , (?) “ eventually filed the casting tweaked float .
( new float was new style , old carb float had sunk , bought new pair for AFB  , I think it was ram carb, I put the floats side by side, in bench =  surprise!  )
new larger Edelbrock needles fix up wrecked AFB idle needle seats  too . More common than  you   think , instead of adjusting it, nicely   changes to abrupt on off action ,over less than one turn  you get the feeling turning needles does nothing ( someone overtightened long ago ) —- due to golden screwdriver endless fiddling on rams
What a difference ! It adjusts!

Another thing I should have mentioned is that the Carter wcfb carburetor is known for its floats to drag on the bowl wall and causing this problem. Carter and Cadillac issued a bulletin on this I believe in 1956. I am not sure if Chrysler did.
