Re: {Chrysler 300} blast from the past (for me anyway)

I bought a lot of inobtanium from Frank over the years. Only had one bad experience, where he didn't hold up his end of the deal concerning door panels that I supplied for reproduction. Live and learn.

Frank didn’t exactly have a stellar reputation in our hobby. And, yes, his prices were outrageous.

The folks at AMSNOS have done a lot to repair the damage. I’ve bought from them and have been happy with what I received. A word of caution: Their website has a parts inventory search feature, but it isn’t always up to date. It’s best to call them. The current owners are nice people.

I was on another Mopar C-body related group page, and stumbled upon a thread about AMS Obsolete Mopar parts, which is apparently where the inventory from Frank Mitchell Mopar Parts went.

I had forgotten all about Frank and his amazing (and high priced) inventory from decades ago.  I would drool over his inventory at Carlisle, but rarely bought anything from him.  This was back in the 80's and 90's when you could still hope to find that rare chrome piece somewhere else at a swap meet for a more reasonable price.  If you had to have it, chances are Frank had it.  Extremely knowledgeable with a great collection of parts books and interchange manuals.  The page I was visiting said the folks at AMS were an upgrade over Frank from a customer service standpoint, but you really have to know the part number/cross reference/superseded number information to use their website.  Just passing the info along.  I was surprised to learn Frank passed back in 2014, though I had stopped looking for his rig at Carlisle years ago.
