i have quite a story in that . One day i get a phone call , a guy says “ Its Robert Redford “ I go , “right, my axx hurts” It really was Robert Redford, looking for a red 300D convert (!) for the movie . Not sure that is what is in it? I had one , but unrestored , he said they would throw a quickie paint job on it . free. And pay for “ about two weeks “ to stay with it move it etc but it was far from running and I wanted to restore it right The alternative was one all fixed in Hawaii , big $ to move . I talked to that fellow , he did it . He told me he had the best time of his life i think it went more than a few weeks, hanging out with movie stars etc Time covers a lot of the detail now .. Car itself is interesting , stripper D , no power windows, shipped to a woman at Chrysler Parts depot Cleveland ( no dealer) had real Sun Tach obviously on there from day one . We found virginia slims butts all over the car with bright ted lipstick on them(!) She was / must have been a trip , (!) “ I want a red D convert cheap , with a tach “
I got it in a lot of 3-4 300 ‘s all at once auctioned off in Cleveland , person ( not the woman) had defaulted on storage cost in large brick (?) warehouse Someone in club , very early , called and told me about it . At least one F was draw for me, this D was aong for ride , All fixed now .. small world jkg

Although it wasn’t made when our cars were new, my personal favorite homage to a Letter Car in a widely seen and acclaimed film is still the intro to “Quiz Show” in 1994 with a beautiful 300D convertible .

The bidders were funny. The guys just kept going and the women were reserved.
I watched a ton of these early ones and the times were certainly different. If I heard it right the car was loaded up, "fat" as the dealers would say among themselves. Big price tag. Would have bought a well appointed Sedan Deville.

Here's a good link for the black 300G, Yvonne Cahagan from Levittown, PA was the winner.
The two cars were pretty loaded and neither one seems to have a match in the club registries.
Nick Steve,
Here is a link to the 300D convertible, $5,703.40

I had YouTube links to the two 300G convertibles but they don't work now. I'll have to look for new ones. I may have downloaded the videos as well.
The black one was on 1/25/1961, $6,740.00
The red one was on 8/9/1961, $6,711.80

Hi 300 ites on this beautiful sunday in March. I was watching old Price is Rights shows yesterday while taking a break from working outside on a drizzley Saturday and guess what was on? A 1961 Chrysler 300 G convt. In black. The suggested retail price was around $6700. They did a list of options on the car prior to 4 panelist guessing the price. Check it out. Pretty COOL I also remember a 57 or 58 C or D on The PIR.show but would have been earlier shows. Roku Channel "BUZZR" *NOTE that they show lots of old 50's 60's and 70's shows and I happened to see an early show.
