for sure mass state police had them in 62  only on mass pike . Rest of state Fords , 406 I think .

Parts from those ram cars floated around mass , one guy i knew / worked  with , had the whole engine / trans in a 34 ford hot rod , said it came from one , this in mid sixties . Salem area .. Wild looking 2-4 hanging out in breeze in hot rod 

One would not see two - three year  old F engines on the scrap yard market ? Where else a 413 ram ?  

Only kept  maybe two years (?) terrible gas mileage , hard to keep running right . 

I got stopped by one on way to NYC St Pats parade in 62 .  6 guys In my 57 D500 . Long ago , readily admit memory fogs, — but the  one that stopped me , cop got a big deal   radio call , ran back and took off fishtailing , big roar , — and as I mentioned , I vividly remember headlights bouncing up and down behind me  , rough idle  , impressive as all get out .  No ticket , awwright ! 

Must have had that wonderful carb heat setup … 

we ( hot rod guys) were all afraid of “ Stateys”. They WOULD chase you . 

A friend in 59 chev 348 trips  4 speed tried to  lose them , after a  route 2 drag race — they chased him through belmont and cambridge ,gor  miles , his brakes burned up how they caught him . Guy went to jail .

This stuff you remember. But many cops  were good guys too

I agree. Until I see pictures or police data of a ram police car, I'm not convinced. Maybe there were some out there, but they would not have been supplied by Chrysler. Police departments bought cars in large lots to get a good price.

This October 1961 Car Life road test of the Chrysler Enforcer has some interesting tidbits in it. The photos in the road test are of a 1961 model so the data can be taken with a grain of salt. It does mention the 300H and the 405hp engine but also states that the base engine in the 300H will be a 383. Maybe that was going to be the case and how the Sport was born.

I can't see any police agency buying a ram inducted car with the complexity it adds for service and maintenance. But I was only a toddler in those days.

Still haven't gotten my original question answered about a list of casting numbers for the intakes. Are there only two sets? Long and short?

Brakes? a 62 with RAMs would need the remote booster too would it not?

Someone posted a question on Facebook about ram induction on the 300H, which I believe were only dealer-installed. Someone else replied that they had a set of ram intakes from one of them for sale. I asked for a casting number and they provided the one for the left side of 2129987.

When I search for this number online, it comes up as J/K ram intake.

The club tech page about rams doesn't list full casting numbers.

Is there a definitive list of casting numbers?

In an article on my own web site contributed by Wayne Graefen, he states that the '60-61 intakes are different from later ones but also includes the casting number mentioned previously.

I know that the '60-61 exhaust headers are different from the J/K ones. But what would a 300H have used?

Since it is commonly reported that the ram parts for a 300H were included in the trunk, I doubt they put a whole new exhaust system in there. That would be required to work with the cast headers and provide the full 405 horsepower rating. There are other things that make this "parts in the trunk" concept unlikely. What about the other mods to the engine? Camshaft? Valvetrain? Compression ratio? Any mods to the transmission?

There was a 300H sold at auction that claimed to have the dealer-installed ram system, but only one picture and no VIN is shown.
