Seems like the speculators/flippers maxed out on the letter cars about 20-25 years ago. I remember a couple of G convertibles selling for $195-205K in the early 2000's. Given that the dollar was worth much more back then, this shows a real decline from the peak. I think this is a reflection of a number of things besides the age of the cars and the people who appreciate them, but also the 'new' performance and luxury available in the mid 2000's when the Gen III Hemi cars like the 300, Magnum, Charger and then 2008 SRT-8 Challenger came on the scene along with retro look Mustangs and Camaros, high powered CTS-V Cadillacs, as well as the big uptake in the resto-mod market. Add in the truck and SUV (C10/Bronco/Scout/Blazer) effect, and letter cars become a relative bargain.
