Does anyone have a dash pot and bracket for a 61 300?

This is the way I have always understood it
The dash pots on the F's and G's are an anti-stall device that is spring activated and will push the throttle open a bit when it senses a low vacuum in the system. Like when sitting at a stop light with your foot on the brake and not on the throttle, and/or when the A/C wants to kick in when at idle. Easily demonstrated with the car when everything is properly adjusted. The piston should be retracted when the car is running and will bump up the Idle when extended due to the internal spring. When idling, you can see and hear whether it's working or not, the piston will extend and retract as needed to keep the engine at the correct RPM's. If the engine starts to idle down too far, bingo, the piston will extend and correct the situation.
I had several rebuilt years ago after having bought them, quote.. "NOS" (yeah, right!!) off e-bay earlier and not testing them right away when they arrived

I have to say that here in the stop and go driving of San Francisco, plus the hills, a dashpot is a must on anything I drive.
What happens all the time is it is my turn at a four way stop. I hit the throttle and start to go, and someone decides they were next. I then have to lift off the throttle quick.
This action causes an abrupt stop in the airflow and the car will stall. A dashpot drops the throttle blades down slow that last little but and allows the airflow to stabilize.
On my 1947 Desoto Custom Suburban, it was a particular issue. The electric dashpot on the Carter BB car had no adjustability to it. I found a few years latter Carter BB with an
adjustable, with a screw, dashpot and dialed in the sweat spot. That has worked great for 20 years.
I urge everyone to make sure your dashpot(s) are working correctly as it enhances drivability a lot. If one is not available, then make one with some other dashpot or call Terrell
Machine in Texas and see if they car rebuild your old one.

It is an anti-stall valve that slowly closes the last small portion when you let off the gas

My question is how critical is this component in normal engine operation? If so many are damaged either from age or "user error" in adjustment, which I think is true, then there
must be plenty of crossram cars running around with a non-functional dashpot. It was eliminated on the J and Ram K, and they run fine without it.

i beluve this part , not the bracket is on 440 six pack sticks in late 60’s and is reproduced , they were stalling on decell when you push in clutch . One can adapt it?
We should note these are broken by 300 owners all the time ! if you attempt to adjust it with one wrench your tear the diaphragm inside instantly . You must use two wrenches
and be sure not to let the stem going into the can turn . If it does it is junk , it cannot resist turning torque , tears s hoke in center of diaphragm
