Michael: I'll be the commentator on the comutator which if it cannot be undercut or otherwise cleaned up by an experienced auto-electric rebuilder, must be replaced. A good rebuilder will have access to the parts you need. You can install a Gener-nator. That is an alternator built into a case resembling a generator. Powermaster has one of these too. Google them up. You can install a Chrysler round back alternator too. The club site shows you how. If I was not going to fix and put the generator back, I'd install a round back. The 1960 AMA specification lists one as optional, so its kosher. Mucho better with AC.
