Are you concerned about a check valve because you believe that hard cold starts result from fuel draining out the carb, back to the pump and back to the tank?

Cold hard starts, especially with the AFB are dry bowls. After I watched Bob Merritt prime a carb through the bowl vents I never seemed to have another hard cold start caused by a fuel pump check valve problem...

Hey just a thought. Thinking of installing an inline electric fuel pump to avoid cranking forever when the car has sat for a while. Was thinking ,why not put a check valve inline between the mechanical pump and carb? Thoughts? Any reason this wouldn’t work?
Thanks
