The unit at
Classic Promenade in Phoenix looks like a car that was freshened up but not one that was restored (by my personal definition)
I see paint overspray on things that were never painted at the factory, I see that the car was never taken off the frame. Looks nice to the
untrained eye, but to get it to a true number two or better car would require taking the entire car apart.
If one paid more than $30K to $40 for it and wanted it to be a true #2 or #1 car then you would be into it more than the market value for a
#2 or #1 car. This assumes you had someone else do the body work and the interior and you did everything else.
The one on Bring a Trailer – Mecum does not really have enough photos for me to comment on. Other than one door switch looks to have paint on
it. Without underside photos it is hard to say how much “restoration” was done on this car.
I know there is not many of them so supply demand drives the price. If I wanted one and was going to pay a large sum of money for it, then
I would be looking to one that in the last 20 years had a full frame off nut and bolt restoration. Meaning every single component was removed and rebuilt-replaced before the entire car was then reassembled.
It looks to me that neither of these cars fits that definition. Given their rarity, they deserve that kind of work.

OK, I think I figured it out, maybe? Just to beat the topic to death 'cause that's what I do, lol. We're discuusing two different white E
convertibles.
The one at Hank's Hershey meet in 2023, sold at RM Hershey Oct. 2024, no sale on BAT Nov. 2024, and currently for sale at Classic Promenade
in Phoenix is VIN 100635.
You can see in the photos it's a different car, especially the interior (in better shape than 100635).
Whew! Glad I sorted that out.
