It could be the lower control arm lower inner bushing. The one on the tapper.

I did my '64 suspension recently as I had a clunk that would happen backing out of my driveway. That lower bushing was shot but one cannot see it as it is under the load of the torsion bar and buried inside the control arm.

Good morning, I’m off to a show at a senior living facility this foggy Texas morning. Hoping some of y’all might point me in the right direction. Not all the time but occasionally when pulling off slowly ( like leaving a parking spot) something in the front will pop. Sounds like something binding. I’ve never owned a torsion bar car,any ideas? It happens intermittently and is not too bad,just annoying.
