{Chrysler 300} Re: 300K under dash panel screws

Good morning all:

I’m new to the group, having bought Dave Mason’s K, Iolani, in July. I’m starting to look for parts and figured there’s no better source than this one. First, know that I am an accountant, and for good reason! Second, I haven’t been in a proper 300 in 40 years. So, any help that I can get is greatly appreciated. Here’s what I’m starting to look for. Steering wheel, exhaust system (complete), and front suspension, also complete. Lastly, I could use some hints as to how to replace the gas pedal linkage that broke on me last week. Hi All,

I spent an hour looking for and cannot find the oval head screws that attach the instrument panel upper die cast plate in place. This is the one that goes from the edge of the dash pad across to the top of the cluster. It uses 3 or 4 MACHINE screws going straight up into the upper dash and has the finish chrome that goes over the top of the cluster.

Can someone with a ’64 and perhaps a ’63 pull one of those screws and tell me the length and thread pitch please?

I am taking the car to the upholster in the AM to do the headliner and to pad out the dash. Just Dashes and the others do not do ’64 pads so I will have him just upholster the dash top. I need to have him make sure that the material is not too thick so that the above part will fit correctly.
