The Black plastic identifier ring is pressed in; by hand. Have to be very, very slow & careful in gently removing that piece. That plastic is now 64 years old & brittle. I’ve not found a method in removing OR reinstalling them that makes me successful really. May be wise to spray soapy water onto it to aid it in coming out. Have to maybe use a very small flathead screwdriver; or better yet a wooden type of blade. It has to be coerced (let’s use that word versus pried) ever so slowly & rocked out. I can’t wait to hear if others have a better method. I’ve cracked / broken more than one should! I should look into reproducing these by the way!! Once you remove that identifier…. There is an inner bezel that does unscrew (has notches on this ring) with the use of needle nose pliers to twist it out. Once that ring is out….The toggle then can be separated from the chrome bezel. (My latte has over caffeinated me & I need to shut up & get out to the garage now!) Matt Allyn
