RE: {Chrysler 300} Antique Battery Source

I bought the correct size battery at Walmart. Then I removed all the stickers, leaving me with a black battery. I bought something called a Tar Topper, which is a molded plastic piece that fits over the existing battery. Looks exactly like a battery from the 50s. The battery holddown covers up the edges. I painted the caps, but I’m fairly sure they now come with painted caps. Finally, I attached one of Bob J’s repro stickers to the side. Looks 100% correct, costs a lot less and lasts a lot longer than the specialized batteries they sell for two or three times as much.

I had the same problem, so I went to Auto Zone and got a cheap size 27 battery for temporary use.

I placed an order for my G through Battery Central Mall back in June for an August delivery and I’m now told I won’t receive it until end of September/October. I do like their batteries, but I also would like to use my car sometime this summer.
