Re: {Chrysler 300} 1960 brake parts

Hi James ,
I hope “ that  person “ checking quality control is not a lawyer or politician .It usually is here , sycophant makes it in large co ( see Boeing , with chinese made wings , good wings , they don’t break )
Challenging thing like bolting in a door they can’t get right . Fully inspected and signed off , like Shuttle .

Inspectors here are put there in the good soft  job by connections . Morass now .
That’s how it is here .

Thank god for Elon . Rockets 50 times better than NASA or JPL , at 5 % of cost,

MIG 1/6 the cost of ours , which cost us in taxes  more than a 4 engine 747  . Really ?  . And MIG arguably outperforms ours ( Paris air show , cobra
maneuver) .Excuses about that are 100% bs. See Eisenhower departure speech ..
I wish more engineers entered politics, but no stomach for who you have to deal with .
Back to 300’s , from a time I liked a lot more than now .. Every  piece designed and made here . Fewer MBA , guys like Burt instead , a co run by WPC who fixed trains with tools he made .

When we had our ships in China for work, we could excellent or crap work. It all depended on who was on the ground to keep an eye on things and who did the work review.

The key was to refuse to pay until we know the work was done correct. Since they basically do not have a functioning Tort System once you paid you have zero leverage.  People bitch about lawyers here in the USA but let me tell you they are a necessary evil for quality control and keeping manufacturers in line.

this whining gets a little extreme . cast iron is cast iron , it is a simple part.

The only variable really is surface finish , and i doubt they get that wrong , but if worried send a hone in .

We can’t make a tv set here anymore, China is now like the US of WW 2 . Can make anything .

Hard to believe the lack of any vision at all here , politically , about   keeping our once world leading infrastructure intact . Why we won WW 2 . It’s gone . Lawyers and politicians in charge , can’t open hood on their BMW, but accept 1000$  hammers, price arrived at by government approved pricing methods  . ( probably originally made in china for 2$)

Further all these companies are large , they cannot risk a crash and lawsuit over brake cylinders .

We would not have any brake cylinders at all without this source .

That is correct.  10mm bleeders.  Centric, Dorman, Dynamic et. al. all made in China.

Raybestos is made in China and has metric bleeders.

Did you have the phone and ask for Raybestos? Their site only shows Dynamic Friction and Centric.

I just got a full set of Raybestos wheel cylinders and master cylinder from rock auto. They all installed without issue and look much better than the Centric ones used on the last project car. Getting ready to bleed the system but need to finish the fuel system resto before I can drive the car.

It appears there are no difference in wheel cylinders for the '60 lineup. Given various comments about quality of parts generally, does anyone have comments on supplies from the many vendors out there?
