I wanted to circle back and say thank you on the recommendation for the E-Z Clip system.
It works very nice, and the only tool cost was the pliers. If someone wanted to make them look less modern, one could wrap the clips with a little closed cell 1/8-inch foam and then slip over a thick wall
black heat shrink. I like the fact that with the special pliers one can pop the clip off in a second.
My only lesson learned is to make SURE you put the clips on before you slip the hose on the fittings. I did that while checking things. The #10 and the #6 hose came off but the #8 was a bitch to get off.
I assume there will be no leaks.

I highly recommend the EZ-Clip hose connection system from Vintage Air Products in San Antonio, TX. I experienced hose leaks for 10 years with the crimp on fittings and had no end of trouble.
Forget the $$$$ that evaporated into the atmosphere with the refrigerant!! I had a totally new Vintage Air system with additional Old Air Products Dual blower rear trunk mounted unit installed in November, 2023. I researched the hose fitting set up and
hoses with the Vintage technicians and followed their advice and went with the EZ-Clip system! Very easy to install, especially not having to “clock” the hose fitting locations for the various components that require hose connections. The hoses also are barrier
type design with less porosity for any refrigerant to permeate. They offer for purchase the cutting tools for the hoses and the special pliers to apply or release the hose clamps that doubly apply pressure at each hose junction fitting. When fully charged
after the 2 day installation process there was no leaks whatsoever! I have been driving the C now going on 6 months with total satisfaction! Check it out and call tech support at Vintage Air. I think you will be satisfied! 300’ly, Rob Kern (enjoying year
