Re: {Chrysler 300} Master Cylinder Lid DIPSTICK

John,

That sounds like the old Grigg type. They were intended as a brake bleeding aid but I've seen with markings on the bottles suggesting that they were meant to be left on to be used as a remote reservoir. Here are some pictures. This is the same one on Per Blixt's car.

I can't remember when/where, but I've also seen a simple plastic looking reservoir plumbed into the cap via a tube similar to the dipstick set up.  Since removing the screw on cap to the plastic reservoir is simple enough, no need for a dipstick?  How often do you really need to take the cover off if you don't have any leaks in your system?

Hi 300 members,

Didn't someone , or several members, add a tube and dipstick to their Master Cylinder Lid ?

I thought I saw a write-up or video about it.

What did you use and how has it been working out for you ?

As I am doing some brake work I'm considering doing the same thing, as it's a real pain to get the lid on and off to check the fluid level and to add fluid.
