Hi Steve- Question for you- not sure this could cause it, but, how long has it been since your bottom radiator hose was replaced? Reason being, they used to be soft rubber with a metal spring inside to hold it open when hot. Nowadays they are stiffer rubber with no spring (at least, many of them). Could you possibly have a spring type, and the spring rusted, and the bottom hose is collapsing? Just a thought, D&K
