Re: {Chrysler 300} Saving a ram 300K

I went back and looked at the replies to my e-mail about the car being for sale. Most of them were negative on the price. I paid $1500 for the body and the remaining parts, mostly the interior. Fortunately, he left the rear springs as they didn't fit his new car. There is no front suspension or steering, no trans or axle, no driveshaft, no radiator. It already had a '65 axle and transmission when he got it. I talked to the guy he got it from and he said it was like that when he got it but he had mounted the rebuilt engine into the car and never ran it. He had sourced a correct pair of carbs for it. The air cleaners and intakes had been modified to fit Edelbrock cars.

I will put the car back together with a regular 413 if I don't get the original engine back. I have another 1964 trans and a spare floor shift valve body. For me, I could not let the car get cut up. I love the '64 300s, always have. Now to track down the guy in Kingman to see if he has the transmission.

How much did this guy think it was worth when it was all together?
Must have been too much or it would have sold

Back in January I posted a ram 300K that was for sale near me. He didn't get any buyers so he started parting it out. He kept the original engine, and a lot of other parts, to put in a 1960 Dodge.

I bought what was left and will put it back on the road at some point. I'll submit the full story for the newsletter.

Here are a few pictures.
