I wouldn’t trust anything from reel steel to be good. I ordered a bunch of things for my 58 Plymouth. Basically everything they made, I wasn’t able to use much of anything. They are awful. Like not even close. Horrible cuts.

To be honest, having a high-quality reproduction made of the trunk lip will cost over 2000. It's quite a complex piece. That's why I encourage people to look at any 60-62 Chrysler that may be a viable donor. If one is found, buy the whole car.

I like your optimism! But I'm not sure it's "no big deal" to get that piece made.

Have Labreque ever made that actual part for you? If so, I and I'm sure the reproduction committee, would be very interested in knowing costs involved etc...as we are trying to get that part reproduced and input from different shops would be welcome.

That part of the sheet metal is somewhat difficult to make I think, curved in every direction you look at it and profile made of different valleys, up and down... etc.

Unless someone has a donor piece you need to have that made which is no big deal for a good fabricator which must exist in Georgia. My restorer in CT (Labrecque Autocraft) routinely fabs sheet metal along those lines for rare cars. Not cheap but far from impossible.
