-- As many of you have seen or heard, Mike McCandless' fully restored '55 C-300 s/n -001 was unveiled at the big MCACN (Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals) Show in Rosemont, IL near O'Hare on Saturday. The concours restoration was performed by Tom White Sr. and Jr. and their crew at Whitehall Auto Restorations over the past 3 years. Of the several restored cars unveiled at the Show, this 300 drew the largest crowd for its intro ceremony. Herb McCandless Sr. and Jr. were on hand for this unveiling, as Mike was home under the weather. Look for a video of this unveiling ceremony on our Club's website!
Club member Steve Southwell also had his beautiful '70 Hurst 300 on display. And Joe Jordan showed his immaculate red '62 Sport Fury 413 MaxWedge convertible. Photos attached.
300 Club members at the show Saturday were John Begian, Jim Bielenda, Mark and Matthew Obermann, Andy and Carole Mikonis, Brian Frank and his brother Bruce, DeAndrea' Vantree, Jay and Carolyn Hackleman, Joe Jordan, Jim Jungwirth, Steve Southwell and me. Sorry I missed seeing Jim and Steve. Also visited there with Burt Bouwkamp's son, John. Spanky Cox was planning on attending Sunday. Hope I didn't miss anyone! There was an overwhelming Mopar presence, including 37 winged '69 Daytonas and '70 Superbirds, one of which was the orange Superbird washed off its hoist by a 30' wave from the recent Florida Hurricane Ian.
