{Chrysler 300} Transmission fluid cooling lines

I recently purchased a set of transmission fluid cooling lines (3-piece) for my 62 300H from Inline Tube, nice product.  I have an NOS in-line filter...there isn't one on the car at the moment, and I'm wondering if club members can provide any guidance on installation.  While the transmission fluid looks OK, I really don't know about its condition.

I'm inclined to drain the existing transmission fluid and replace with fresh material, however, I've heard that this procedure can be somewhat "tricky."

Appreciate any/all help.

Thanks!

Kurt
