Hello 300’ly to all!
At the business meeting last week the Fall Meet to be held in Pasadena, CA was presented. Meet co-hosts are Bob Jasinski and myself. The Meet will be held from Sunday, October 9th to departure on the morning of Thursday, October 13th. The host hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Pasadena|Monrovia, CA. The group rate is $159 per night plus tax without breakfast and $179 per night plus tax with breakfast for two. Reservations opened on May 2nd and will be available to be booked until September 9th. If you make a reservation after September 9th the hotel’s prevailing rate will apply subject to availability. You may call the host hotel directly at 626-357-1900 Ext. 0 and mention you are with the 51st Fall Meet. You must mention the group rate code of CHR if you want the room without breakfast or code CHB if you want the breakfast package. DO NOT RESPOND TO THE FIRST CUE OF DAILING 1 FOR RESERVATIONS, it is a national off site Hilton reservation line and the people working it are not familiar with the group rate made with the host hotel for our meet! The group rate will be available for 3 nights prior to and after the meet, therefore from October 6th to check out on October 16th!
The long awaited agenda is finalized. This will be a combined meet with invitation extended to the Chrysler 300 Club Inc. Sunday the 9th will be check with an orientation meeting in the hotel lobby at 7:30pm. Monday one half the group will travel by chartered bus from the host hotel to Burbank to tour the Warner Brothers Studios and Back Lot. The other half will also board a chartered bus at the host hotel and journey to Burbank to tour Jay Leno’s Big Dog Garage and his private vehicle collection! After the Warner Brother’s tour the first group will have lunch on their own at the Back Lot Cafe at Warner Brother’s or the Starbucks in the tour lobby. This group after lunch will tour Jay Leno’s Garage and collection while the other morning group will travel from Jay Leno’s Garage to Warner Brother’s and have lunch there prior to going on an afternoon tour of the Warner Brothers Studios and Back Lot. Everyone will return to the host hotel at the end of the day via their chartered bus for dinner on their own. The business meeting will be held at the host hotel at 8:00 pm and also for the Chrysler 300 Club,Inc. at that time. On Tuesday everyone will board a chartered bus at the host hotel and journey to The Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire Blvd. for a most enjoyable full day! In the morning we will do the general museum exhibits and have lunch at the new Petersen Cafe or at a museum across the street from the Petersen which will allow us to frequent their cafe without having to pay for admission. Lunch again is on your own. The afternoon at The Petersen will be spent touring The Vault which will be opened for our group. After a fascinating time at the Petersen our chartered buses (aka mobile hospitality suites) will return us to the host hotel. Dinner is on your own. Tuesday night will feature the 5th edition of LETTER CAR JEOPARDY! performed by co-host Rob Kern and wife Marnie (aka Vanna White but she speaks..and yes that is Wheel of Fortune…but do we not all own wheels of fortune?). Wednesday will have tentative concours judging and our car show in the host hotel parking lot with People’s Choice voting too. The Awards Banquet will be held that evening in the Madera Ball room at the host hotel. Cash bar will start at 5;00pm and will be available during the banquet which will be a buffet starting at 6:00 pm. Awards will follow.
The DoubleTree by Hilton has free parking with 24/7 on site security patrols. There also is free ample parking for trailers and tow vehicles immediately adjoining the hotel guest parking. These details along with a registration from will be posted soon on the Chrysler 300 Club International website and will be mailed with the next Club News and NewsFlite letter.
Why this lengthy e-mail? Bob and I felt that it was necessary for all members to learn of registration and the agenda that was revealed to those that attended the Greenville Meet. There is a potential for rooms to be reserved quickly and we wanted everyone to be able to decide before the mailed publications arrive and the posting on the website. Rich Barber will forward this e-mail to members of the Chrysler 300 Club Inc. who are on that club’s e-mail list.
So, this seems to be a one time chance for one very popular venue on the meet agenda. GO FOR IT and bring friends and family members! Bob Jasinski and Rob Kern
