Electric motors used to produce a lot of ozone from arcing. I assume the new ones still do. Nasty stuff. If your Tesla catches fire after a wreck, call Tesla tech services to put out the fire. Local FD cannot. The car may even catch unquenchable fire up on the flatbed or at the salvage yard. Stored energy with no place to go. Can’t drain those kWh/BTU into a bucket. At least on our 300’s, the tank can be drained and the battery cable removed by about anyone. As many of us know! I like the fact that our 300’s get lighter as we burn fuel—for just a little improved ton-miles/gallon. Last I read my engineering handbook, electricity does not weigh much. Einstein knows how much but you will never know. Rich B. in B/W. Don’t think I’d want it to sound like my Chrysler. Will they be trying to satisfy all of our senses by adding the aroma of partially unburnt 94 octane? They need the sounds of groans while extracting their wallets when it comes time to replace the batteries or watch it catch fire while charging one day Yup that makes more sense Less phony. I think Tesla is missing the mark here. They don't need a rumbling V-8 sound. The sound they should use is from the Chrysler Turbine car from 1963. A good App will do that!!

Kind of like you would select a unique ring tone on your phone. And you could switch it up, depending on who is in the car with you. :) Ron

Their new CEO is speaking about the future of EVs and lack of sounds: “One tricky part? Continuing to offer a signature sound to replace the rumble of a powerful V-8. "It's something we have to work on. There are solutions for that." Tavares noted that younger generations have a different perception of what makes for a powerful sound.”

We only have the polar vortex and -30 . I have a friend here with a Tesla and a G. I will tell him about this. Thks Hi To All, In the Northeast it is cold and it feels like it snows every other day. While waiting for my second shot and spring, I was contacted by the Tesla owners’ group looking to develop an App to play significant engine sounds in their eerie and hauntingly quiet Tesla cabins. I directed them to our Chrysler 300 Circus presentation on YouTube. https://youtu.be/i2zVOdzBVG0 After viewing, they want to know which year Elephant and which year Lion would be best to add to their upcoming audio library on the new App. So I am requesting your knowledgeable input as to what 300 letter cars are representative for the engine sounds for these poor Tesla owners that do not have properly sounding vehicles: - Elephant (Hemi) powered 300 Letter Cars- Which Letter has the best engine sounds?
- Lion (Wedge) powered 300 Letter Cars- Which Letter has the best engine sounds?
The winner in each category will be visited by professional audio technicians to record their engine sounds. -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
