This is where using this archaic mailing list shows it’s limitations. A real forum is so much better. I don’t know if I’ll get in trouble for this but here’s a link to a real forum that shows pictures - http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=40240

I know it make take a little effort, but it would sure be nice to see some of this in pictures, with side by side comparisons. I too am converting a non-ram car to a ram car, but I have the correct linkage, or so I think.... I bought it from the folks at JC Auto year ago.
I'm at a slight disadvantage, as the car currently has a 318 Poly motor (Not even a B or RB motor) in it now. ('61 Plymouth Station Wagon).

I'm the guy reproducing the ram car linkage.
If someone is converting a non ram engine to a ram engine, the firewall linkage pivot is different.
On ram engines, the vertical flat piece on the firewall linkage( where the linkage from the bell crank hooks onto) is further to the passenger side . I did not measure exacly by how much but a visual check between my 300G and a 1961 Newport I have in my shop at the moment makes me think at least 3 inches. And yes , there's a slight twist in the vertical piece.
On non ram engines, that vertical piece is inline with the linkage rod coming out of the left side of the carburator and is not twisted.
I also noticed that the support bracket bolted to the transmission ( the one with the white plactis clip in it) is shaped differently between my 300G and the Newport, but I cannot confirm if the one on the Newport is original or has been changed. I know the one on my G is original.
So that part may also need to be changed if converting a non ram car to a ram car.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Reproduction Cross Ram linkage
List:
I saw an ad in the past for complete reproduction cross ram linkage.
Can't recall who was offering it. Does anyone recall who this person might be?
I seem to think it might be Yves Chauinard.
Also, a friend is converting a 61 Newport from 361 4V to 413 cross ram power. I told him his firewall linkage was probably the same - just the arm for the bellcrank rod might need a slight twist. Am I correct or not? I know the rod from the arm to the bellcrank will need to be replaced.
I should know this but have forgotten too many things.
Thank you !
