Your photos did not come thru the listserver. I assume from your description you are talking about the bellcrank. I'm sending 2 photos of a complete pedal assembly broken down into parts. You can see that the 2 legs on the bellcrank are straight.

The system will work if bent, but the geometry will be wrong and you will have a "mushy" pedal and excessive wear on related parts.

Do I need to straighten this?
Possible damage during engine removal.Is the lever on right supposed to be straight, or bent like photo?
I'm thinking straight.  Any visuals out their?
