Stephen, The trans guy got it for me from Summit. He told
me they offered 2 types, one with the Summit name on it and one with out.
It is larger than the original pan. As far as your other questions, mine
is a survivor (except for the trans pan) and I’m not even sure of the
routing. There is a trans cooler in front of the rad.

What aftermarket aluminum pan
did you use for your 727? Did you go for the extra capacity? that helpes in
keeping it cool(er), with the extra trans fluid, or so they say? Also, do you
have an external trans cooler installed? The factory units mount in front of the
radiator support and are hard plumbed, so I'm told. If you have one, what is the
flow path of the trans fluid, does it still go through the radiator cooler then
out to the trans cooler then back to the trans? Just curious on the routing for
best cooling. Thanks in advance for insights.

leak with my survivor H, the culprit was the pan. The final trans guy told
me the original pan was good for about 3 or 4 times coming off. After
that, the edges get so warped, 3 different places couldn’t stop the leak.
I replaced the pan with an aftermarket aluminum one and presto! no
leaks.

727 I picked up my car this morning with its replaced engine and tranny mounts
. I had an NOS RF and a used LF, plus a new tranny mount from Jeff Carter. The
reason I changed them out was that
I believe the engine wassitting too low which is hopefully why my fan blade
was clipping the lower part of the shroud which happened after I changed out my
fan clutch!
I was very surprised at the difference the "new" engine mounts made in
terms of smoothness of idle ??? All I can imagine is that the engine rocking
around was modulating the throttle linkage.
But now there's another issue to be resolved. transmission fluid
leaks.
My mechanic (in the top 20 of 1900 in the Bay area) added dye to the
transmission this morning.
Tomorrow morning we will look for leaks on his rack.
Does any one have suggestions for the most common source of leaks?
Also, if it does have to come out and go to a shop he recommends to be
resealed, does anyone know, or is there a club publication
about the differences between a 727 and a 300H 727? (I am anticipating a
call about needing a rebuild etc. I really do trust this shop, even though the
owner is Corvette afficianado :-)).
