How can I tell if the TDC mark on the vibration damper for my 1957 300C has shifted? I just recently adjusted all the valves on the assumption that everything was OK with the correct TDC location, but I now realize that assumption may be erroneous! In lieu of a dial indicator, is the old "soda straw in spark plug hole for cylinder #1" method close enough? Ray Melton Las Cruces, NM 1957 Chrysler 300C cvt white/Gauguin S/N 3N572517 From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Larry Jett Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2013 11:32 AM To: Chrysler 300 List Subject: [Chrysler300] Damper report The oem damper has a 3/16 inch gap from factory assembly which allowed it to rub the motor and make the racket that announced its eminent death and the timing mark has rotated almost 180 degrees from factory. Sending it off to Damper Dudes in Anderson CA. Will report the outcome.
