RE: [Chrysler300] Fw: Indy pace cars

Very interesting to see a smattering of MoPars from 1926 to 1996.  Never a
letter car.  Unfortunately, the one year a Chrysler 300 was chosen, Mother
MoPar elected not to offer a letter car convertible (1963).   Most of you
will be aware that Chrysler did offer the 1963 Chrysler 300 Pacesetter model
in coupes as well as convertibles.  The Pacesetter convertibles were mostly
Pace Car Blue, the only greenish (unlucky) pace car on record.

 

A hopeful prediction:  A Chrysler 300 pillarless coupe and convertible will
be offered soon with a variety of Hemi engines, including a blown 392.
They will once again blow the doors off of all other domestic iron (and
fiberglass) and will be chosen as Pace car for Indy.  Stay tuned, film at
11.

 

In 2001, Oldsmobile apparently offered an inline V-6.  Oxymoron or
non-sequitur?

 

That '33 Chrysler Imperial pace car was a beauty.
