[Chrysler300] no brake lights

OK, do i tried to be a good boy and comb the tech articles and listserve archives to see if i can fix this, but i'm confused as to whether my turn signal switch is the problem or this hydraulic switch i'm reading about...
all my interior lights function, headlights, parking lights, back up lights, tail lights, and turn signals (plus they cancel fine)
i just have no brake lights when brakes are applied so no driving my beloved 300F down here in Fort Lauderdale during our heavenly winter weather :(
can somebody explain to me how to troubleshoot this and fix it.
