Hi All,
The G was owned by a one-year club member. It was offered for sale on eBay
a while back and also went through a Kruse auction a few years earlier.
eBay bids went to $55,000 so what idiot would sell it for less?
I doubt the club member is the scammer so it wouldn't be wise to publish the
guy's name. Scammers don't pay club membership dues.

Perhaps the club's keeper of the records can match the VIN to the real
owner of this car. The photos show VIN 8413139742. Anyone recognize the
number?

Greetings - There is a very good summary of how these various scams work
on the
ars On Line home page at
ww.cars-on-line.com (scroll to the bottom of their home page). As Anthony
oints out, the cues are hotmail or gmail email addresses, a sob story or
too
usy to come and see the car, or working offshore etc, and broken English.
ffering more than the asking price is a frequent come on. Most recently,
hey've even found a way to run their scam through PayPal, which is also
xplained on the Cars on Line site. It's a useful 10 minute read before you
list
car on an internet site. The site may be quite legit, but these scammers
still
ry to exploit them. They seem to originate in Nigeria and Russia because
of lax
aws and/or enforcement, although they use American names and area codes in
US
tates.

> Greetings fellow collectors:
I received this obvious scam offer below to sell a mint 300G for
only $12,000 after responding to an ad on www.adpost.com .
First, I doubt the extremely low mileage of 4,850 on a 51 year
old car and then the "too good to be true" low price at a
fraction of the car's worth.
Next comes the sympathy story that has been circulated before (
husband killed in Iraq) and failure to provide any phone
number or documents despite several requests.
The following email offering to ship the car from England (when
advertised to be in Lancaster, PA) for FREE confirms this is unreal.
Anyway, the attached photos should be of interest to club
members as perhaps it may be of a car you know or own.
I also wonder if anyone else has received a similar offer to
sell this car?
I welcome your replies and be ware of Nigerian type scams.
I am still looking to buy a real 300 letter car or preferably a
Chrysler wagon (1961 or similar) so if anyone knows of any nice
ones for sale please reply.
Thanks for your interest.

Hello,
Thank you for your interest, the car is in great shape, no
engine problems, damages or hidden defects. The car was my
husband`s as he loved it very much, but he did not enjoy
it so much, he died in a IRAQ 9 months ago. It brings very bad
memories to me, I want to get rid of it. I`m a single mother
with 2 children's and now I have some problems with the money
because we just moved back to my homeland United Kingdom.
The mileage is 4,850 and the price is $12,000.
Please let me know if you are still interested.
Thank you.
