According to the service manual, '64 300s, Ks (not sure about thr
ram-K), NYers and Imperials came with 3" shoes/drum sets all around. Only the
Newport came with 3" front sets and 2 1/2" rear sets. If, for any reason, you
have 2 1/2" sets in the rear (parts manual shows 2 1/2" drums [P/N 2401
962-3) listed for all except Imperial), and would like to install 3", the rear
brake shoe supports need to be replaced as well.
I don't know why 2 1/2" brakes were listed for 300s and NYers, maybe someone
with more knowledge on this can give us the reason.
Best,
Ron Kurtz

Subject: [Chrysler300] Brakes and gas tank
I have a non ram 300K the brake shoes are 3" wide. I'm told 3" was for ram cars
only. It would make thing easyer for me to get the right width.
So I may have a good 3" set to sell.
Cant get gas tanks cleaned here do to law. I drain them and give the old gas to
a friend who lives on a farm. They use it for burning.
I then put a couple of chains in the tank, laundry detergent and water.
And work the $it out of it. Then do it all over again.
Once its "clean" I use a gas tank sealer.
It's a job I would pay someone to do if I could !
