Why is it necessary to do this in the first place ? I'm sure that rich folks that bought these cars new didn't want to have to prime the carbs every time the car sat for a few days or a week. IMHO, Chrysler engineering would never design a car that needed this kind of babying.
Is something missing or not set up correctly such that you need to go thru this procedure in order to start the car ? I'm thinking in terms of the glass bowl fuel filter which, at least on my 58 Plymouth, delivers an instant shot of gasoline to the carb (since it's mounted just in front of the fuel intake port), and will start the car within a couple seconds even if its been sitting for a couple weeks.

I've used a ketchup squeeze bottle for years to prime the carbs on my "F" -- fits nicely into the opening of the vent tubes.
I've never tried a mustard bottle...maybe that's the difference. ;-)

I have a Carter AFB for the K apart, non ram. A quick and dirty estimate of
one bowl chamber
is 9.72 cubic inches. (160 cc).
The G carb is smaller but I'd bet the float chambers are the same as the K.
I'd guess actual volume is much less since a fella has to subtract off
the volume of the
float.
Yes, my mustard bottle that I use for prime is too big for the vent
holes so what I miss
down the vent acts as prime in the manifold.
By the way, you can prime WCFB's this same way, see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjOCztCh-Dk&feature=related
about 50 seconds into it.
Hi ho
Soon to the Lake D'George!
