RE: [Chrysler300] 1961 Weight

I've read that all or most manufacturers' published weights are dry-dry-dry.
No fuel, oil, coolant, options & etc.  And the weight may have even been
fudged further on the light side to minimize RR shipping costs.  Over the
scale weights with a full tank of gas, typical options, oil in the sump,
coolant in the radiator and junk in the trunk will probably run the weight
up 200-400#.  

 

U-Haul would not rent me a trailer to haul our 1955 C-300 as it was on their
"no-haul" list.  No telling what their weight criterion is.  I've seen
published weights of 4,005# (Service Manual) to 4,360# for the C-300.   I've
never weighed mine over the scales 

 

As previously noted, if looking for a trailer for any 300, it would be best
to get the 5,000#-5,500# axles and tires as compared to the more standard
3,500# axles and tires as I did.
