[Chrysler300] '57 & '58 Orange in the Brake Ducts question

There is a puzzlement on orange paint in the front brake ducts on the C and D cars.
I have heard of at least one D where the owner found what appeared to him to be original orange paint on the inside only of his plastic brake duct "funnels". His outsides were unfinished, as were those on my C. On my C I can tell that there never was orange on the inside of my funnels, only on the insides of the cast pieces that feed air into them.
Is this a '57 vs. '58 difference? Or was the orange only put inside the plastic funnels of some cars? Or was orange on the inside never done at the factory?
What have others found?
Thanks.
