I bought a kit seven years ago and had my mechanic put it in.  Saved
shipping the pump back and forth and the job was easy.  However, I often
suspect the fuel pump of contributing to hard starting problems by allowing
fuel to flow back to the tank through leaky inlet and outlet check valves
(Both would have to leak with the engine off to allow the fuel to gravity
back to the tank).

 

I purchased the kit and a flexible inlet fuel hose for about $50 in
2004-from Antique Auto Parts Cellar.  I had several discussions with Mr.
Hannaford and he seemed to be quite knowledgeable and helpful.  The rebuild
is really only easy if the body is held together with screws, not rivets.
Internal parts are check valves, seats, springs and a diaphragm that is not
soluble in today's fuel brews.
