Hello Arthur - Phil Irish here,
There has been much discussion about too little zinc in most oil for our
older engines' needs. A friend just introduced me to Kendall GT-1 High
Performance oil. It is specifically for racing/high performance engines,
with ZDDP for flat-tappet camshafts.
I got mine through O'Reilly stores. Not quite as expensive as full
sythetic, but should perform well in our cars. I am doing my yearly oil
changes (low milage each year) and plan to use it in all my fleet (4 '56
354" Chryslers, 3 '69 440" Chryslers plus assorted other performance and fun
cars).
All the Best 300ing!
Phil
