Re: [Chrysler300] K Troubles

I agree with Pete. I have had a Pertronix unit in my 64 300 for about 3 years and never had a problem. I used a stock "off the shelf" coil as the instructions said, and it works perfectly. Incidentally, the car was sold yesterday.

Hi group:

Not to be the contrarian, but I have had petronix units on my K and on
y G for years. They both run beautifully, and the only time I get any
inging is when I am unfortunate enough not to be able to purchase 93 octane
as.

I couldn't agree more with Steve. Beside the G I have a 67 300, which I
nstalled the electronic unit. The problem it gave me was severe pinging,
he vacuum advance and distributor design advanced way too much. Adjusting
he advance to eliminate the ping gave poor performance. Went back to the
oints and runs great, no ping and great performance. Had a 73 Dodge with
he electronics and had to replace the electronic unit more times than I
an remember, nothing but trouble.
